Newborn Essential Items That We Actually Used! What To Buy For a 0-3 Month Old Baby--

If you are expecting and are eagerly preparing for baby, congratulations! Motherhood has been a wonderful blessing in my life and everyday I feel so grateful to be a mom to my beautiful baby girl.

I remember vividly trying to put together my registry when I was 6 or 7 months pregnant with Ellie and not knowing what I would actually need. Of course every family is different and every baby is different so some of these items that worked for our family may or may not work for you. Here are the essentials that we used!

Ellie used the newborn size for the first month and a half and then switched to a size one. I would recommend not buying too many newborn diapers because they are quite small. Our favorite brands are Huggies or Pampers (they don't leak like some of the other ones we tried)

2. Wipes - Any kind… but we use a lot

3. Carters unisex newborn shirts- https://amzn.to/3E2tHe3

We like using these in the very beginning because they don't touch the the belly button area since it still needs to heal for the first 1-2 weeks. (The area where the umbilical cord is cut)

4. Muslin swaddle blanket -https://amzn.to/3Ut6hnq

We used this every night to swaddle her in for the first 3 months when she would sleep. These blankets kept her warm but I liked that they were lightweight, easy to wrap around her, and big.

5. Bassinet Chicco Lulla Go Portable bassinet https://amzn.to/3U8ek9C

Ellie seems to really enjoy this bassinet. It's portable which is great so Ellie can feel comfortable wherever she goes. Also, I like that the mesh sides help to keep the air flow circulating.

Every since Ellie was a newborn, we used this brand of hair and body wash. She seems to like it and I've also gotten a lot of compliments of how good she smells after taking a bath!

7. Baby electric nail trimmer https://amzn.to/3WyhAfZ

Baby nails grow SO fast from the time they are born. This specific electric nail trimmer is good because we don't have to worry about cutting too far down into her nail. It's very gentle on the nail and trims down slowly.

8. Dock a tot http://shrsl.com/3s2h5

Ellie loved sleeping in the dock a tot during the day in this sleeper till she was about 2 1/2- 3 months. It always made her feel snug and safe!

These Kiwi Co. crates are STEM based toys that are perfect for the age of any child. I initially ordered 3 crates and so far, we love all the toys in them. They are educational and challenging at the same time!

10. Yogasleep Hush Portable White Noise Machine https://amzn.to/3fC9Ed6

This white noise machine comes in very handy every night when we are putting Ellie down to sleep. She feels comforted by the noise and overall it helps to soothe her.

11. Boudreaux's Butt Paste Maximum Strength Diaper Rash Cream https://amzn.to/3UkgeDW

A must have.... we have one at every changing station in our house.

Ellie loves her giraffe wubbanub. It helps to soothe her when she's crying and also helps put her to sleep.

13. Diaper Pail https://amzn.to/3fAsh0W

A must have if you don't plan on taking out the trash everyday. This definitely helps to alleviate any smell of poop! Keeps the room smelling fresh!

14. Hatch Changing Table https://amzn.to/3fBl2ps

We love that this changing table is easy to wipe up and clean. Also, this can take Ellie's weight so we know if she is getting enough milk!

I hope that this list helps any new mom's out there!
